Whoo Hoo the weekend is here at last! It's been hot, steamy, foggy and now rain and thunder....so who knows what the weather will bring for the rides on Saturday, but I doubt there will be any reason not to ride.
You will definitely want to be sure to time your rides to catch the Olympic women's team pursuit final action ...the UK, USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand will race including our local superstars: Dotsie Bausch, Sarah Hammer and Jennie Reed and Lauren Tamayo. Very exciting as is the men's racing too!! If it's cycling on TV watch it.....::)) For ride choices: Serious Cycling has the 8 a.m ride, everyone is welcome, various routes. Helmets mandatory (seriously I shouldn't have to write this, just wear a helmet anytime you swing your leg over the bike ok:) 29041 Thousand Oaks Blvd Agoura, Ca
Franco bikes has an 8 a.m sufferfest up Decker then and 8:30 a.m ride that is more civilized....go see for yourself, it's good to push yourself once in a while Revolution Bike Shop in Solana Beach has a new 51 mile route for the 8 a.m ride, so check that out if you are heading south for the weekend. Cvcbike.org is the local Westlake club and they have rides most everyday and lots on the weekend, the Thursday night picnic ride is really fun, so check that out--ride then picnic, what could be better?
Sunday I will be in Westlake coaching the Moms in Motion group...hope to catch up with some of you afterward at the Coffee Bean Last time I was in the neighborhood some of the guys mentioned wanting a half day skills course....please email me I have coaches waiting to put a date to it..you'll have fun learning some advanced cornering, pushing drills and downhilling techniques and some foundation work....possibly throw in a game of garbage ball too--if you haven't tried that then you haven't got skills::)) rlmzenzyus@gmail.com Ladies we also have an upcoming single day course in bike touring...so you want to ride with a girlfriend or two to wine country? we'll show you how to do it, how to pack, find routes, on the road bike maintenance, etc. Let me know if you want more info: rlmzenzyus@gmail.com DAte TBD
Our boys at Road Bike Action have been busy covering the Tour, the Olympics, the Fondos and the lunch ride antics....be sure to check out the fun at www.roadbikeaction.com... and oh yeah, don't forget to check out Girl Talk Too Andreas is doing ok, he's started his therapy and is amazingly strong in both spirit and atttitude. His brother BO had a birthday this week and Andreas would like everyone to give him a shout out, so go to Facebook and Twitter or Caring Bridge and show some love..or better yet go here and click "like" they will donate a $1 to Help us Shred Kid's Cancer http://blog.mb2raceway.com/?p=349 That's easy right:) Many congrats to all those who raced in San Marcos last weekend...that was a hot one, but a great course. Have you lubed your chain lately? Just do it, then ride safely. As my friend Diana says Pink Hugs for all, Ride on, RaeLynn
